IRA Takes on Knoxville Regulars Saturday!

(Bill W) It’s going to be another great weekend of racing at the Knoxville Raceway! The car count shouldn’t dip at all, as the Interstate Racing Association traveling series will take on the Knoxville 410 regulars. The “IRA” is based in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois and features some of the best sprint car drivers in the country!

The IRA has registered two main events in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, one at the Dodge County Fairgrounds and the other at Charter Raceway Park. Two-time IRA champion Scotty Neitzel and Ricky Logan took down those feature wins. Neitzel leads the early point standings for the series heading for Iowa. The IRA boasts the greatest quantity of drivers for any 410 traveling series. Expected to join Neitzel are former Knoxville track record holder, Mike Reinke, defending series champ Billy Balog, Mike Kertscher, Steve Meyer, Dave and Scott Uttech, Scott Biertzer and many more!

The best of Knoxville will be ready for the IRA led by 2007 track champion Brian Brown, 1995 champ Johnny Herrera, 2006 champ Billy Alley, 2-time champion Skip Jackson, Mark Dobmeier, Dusty Zomer, Calvin Landis, Skip Jackson, Billy Alley, and Bronson Maeschen to name a few!

The 360 class will join the 410’s again this week. 57 cars filled the backstretch pits last week, with Oklahoma youngster Matt Covington, beating them all for his first career win. It was a rough week for defending champion Matt Moro, and defending owner champion Jesse Giannetto, as both failed to make it out of the B main. They will be ready to turn that around Saturday night, but they’ll have plenty of company!

If last Saturday’s races were any indication, this is going to be an awesome year, and we look forward to seeing you Saturday at Knoxville Raceway! Be sure to take advantage of the many offers and discounts provided!
