More Great Action at Knoxville Saturday!
(Bill W) Feel the roar at the Knoxville Raceway as the action heats up with the weather this weekend! The best sprint car drivers in the Upper Midwest will lay it on the line once again this Saturday night, and you don’t want to miss it!
“Blackjack” Brian Brown was able to secure his first feature win of the year, and he’s hoping to make it two in a row in the 410 class. Point leader, “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera, wants to bounce back from some misfortune last week and gain his fourth feature win of the season.
“TMAC” Terry McCarl is scheduled to return to the track he won six championships at, and other former track champs like “The Mad Man” Kerry Madsen, Skip “Action” Jackson and “Tornado” Billy Alley will take aim at the top prize of $3,000! Add Aussie Lynton Jeffrey, “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, “Zoom Zoom” Dusty Zomer, Don Droud Jr. and Bronson Maeschen and you’ve got the perfect recipe for another great race at Knoxville!
The 360 class will also hit the big half-mile. Last week, Brett Mather grabbed his fifth career win, and first as a car owner. Sioux Falls native Clint Garner will be in hot pursuit of his first win of the year. The point leader has been impressive. Nebraskan Ryan Roberts, South Dakota natives, Bryan Dobesh and Gregg Bakker, Johnny “Lightning” Anderson, Jon Agan, “The Beav” Dennis Moore Jr., Nate Van Haaften, and impressive rookies like Chad Humston and Jonathan Cornell will add to the competitive mix as well.
Junior Fan Club sign-up is still on as well, so sign up if you are between the ages of you are ages 5-12 (information below)!
In addition the 305 sprints will run a full program, setting up a sprint car tripleheader!

Knoxville Raceway Junior Fan Club
Welcome to the 2009 Knoxville Raceway Jr. Fan Club!!! Sign-up will be under the main grandstand at the Junior Fan Club booth. We hope you can all make it, but if not, you can sign up on your first regular race night (dates listed below). The Knoxville Raceway Junior Fan Club is free for kids 5-12 and you receive a t-shirt and other goodies at sign up. Below is some other important Junior Fan Club information.
1. You must sign in every time you come to the race at the Jr. Fan Club Booth to be eligible for that evening’s events and prizes.
2. Each week we will draw one child’s name to be the Jr. Fan of the Week. The winner will be announced after Time Trials.
3. The Jr. Fan of the Week will receive a Trophy, 8 x 10 color photo of them and their favorite Local driver. The winner will visit the press box and watch Tony Bokhoven and Blake Anderson announce a Heat race. There may also be other prizes.
4. After registering for the evening, the coordinators will draw the names of 20 kids for the 410 A and 20 kids for the 360 A. Each name drawn will be paired with one of the cars that are in that A Feature. Following the race there will be a prize for the each member who has the winning number in each feature and the member who has the last place finisher in each feature. Winners of these prizes may pick them up on the next Junior Fan Club night.
5. Knoxville Raceway Jr. Fan Club dates for 2008 are June 6, June 13, June 20, July 4, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1 and August 29.
6. You are encouraged to wear the Jr. Fan Club t-shirt each night you come to the races.
7. At the Annual Pizza Party, a Jr. Fan Club Member of the Year will be drawn from the Club Members who have perfect attendance and had their shirts every time they attended. That member and their immediate family will be invited to attend the Annual Points Banquet.
