World of Outlaws Return to Knoxville Raceway Saturday!

(Bill W) – The World of Outlaws will return to the Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night for the Mediacom Shootout at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World”! The famous ½ mile has hosted the WoO since their inaugural season in 1978!

Three-time and defending WoO champion Donny Schatz leads the traveling series of the best in the sprint car business back to Knoxville this weekend. “The Brownsburg Bullet” Joey Saldana is only 49 markers behind the leader, and has been hot as of late. “Hotfoot” Jason Meyers is currently third in the standings, while “The King” Steve Kinser and “The Crowd Pleaser” Craig Dollansky are lying in wait.

“Double Down” Jason Sides, 8-time Knoxville track champion “The Dude” Danny Lasoski, “The Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild, 2005 Knoxville Nationals Champion Kraig Kinser and Lucas Wolfe round out the top ten in WoO standings heading into the weekend. Six-time track champion, “TMAC” Terry McCarl, Wayne Johnson and other visitors are also expected for the last “tune-up” for the big dogs until August’s “Grandaddy of them all”, the 49th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil, August 12-15.

Current Knoxville 410 point leader, “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera is expected to be one of the local favorites to spoil the Outlaws’ weekend. “Blackjack” Brian Brown has won two in a row, and looks very strong as well. They will be joined by fan favorites Lynton Jeffrey, Don Droud Jr., Dusty Zomer, “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, “Tornado” Billy Alley, Bronson Maeschen, Skip “Action” Jackson and two-time track champion, “The Mad Man” Kerry Madsen in the quest for the $10,000 top prize.

Joining the World of Outlaws will be the 360’s! The 360 racing as of late has been second to none, and Clint Garner will lead a solid field into Saturday’s events. Ryan Roberts, Gregg Bakker, Johnny Anderson and Bryan Dobesh are also expected to compete in a field that has averaged 35 cars this season!
