Early Entries Approach the 100 Mark for 49th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil!

(Bill W) The early entries for the 49th edition of the SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil read like a "Who's Who?" in sprint car racing. Entries are around the 100 mark and counting! Twelve-time Nationals champion Steve Kinser heads the list, and is joined by some other winners of sprint car racing's biggest prize! Four-time winner Danny Lasoski is entered, as well as three-time and defending champ Donny Schatz, 1983 winner Sammy Swindell and 2005 winner Kraig Kinser.

Joey Saldana, Jason Meyers, Jason Sides, Jac Haudenschild, Craig Dollansky, Lucas Wolfe and Brian Ellenberger are other World of Outlaws entries, while the All Star Circuit of Champions are well represented by point leader, Tim Shaffer, multi-time champions Dale Blaney and Greg Wilson, and Brandon Wimmer.

The "Welcome Back" treatment will be given to Aussie Garry Brazier, who makes his first appearance at the Nationals since 1998, and to Erin Crocker, the 2003 Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year, and the only female to qualify for the Nationals finale.

The Knoxville regulars are well represented, as expected. The top five in the point standings have their entries in, including leader Johnny Herrera, Brian Brown, Don Droud Jr., Dusty Zomer and Lynton Jeffrey. Other locals like Kerry Madsen, Mark Dobmeier, Billy Alley, Skip Jackson and Bronson Maeschen have served notice before that they are factors as well.

The Pennsylvania Posse is well represented. PA Speedweek champion Greg Hodnett is entered, along with Keystone Cup and Ohio Speedweek champ Stevie Smith. Other PA entries include 2008 Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year, Doug Esh, 1993 Nationals Rookie of the Year, Lance Dewease, Daryn Pittman and talented young driver, Cody Darrah.

Entries from the Left Coast include current Golden State Challenge/King of California point leader, Tyler Walker and 2-time King of California, Jonathan Allard. Regional Outlaws like Terry McCarl, Ed Lynch Jr., Randy Hannagan, Jesse Hockett, Wayne Johnson, Danny Smith, Jason Johnson, Shane Stewart, Chad Kemenah and Rob Chaney will add plenty of spice as well.

The rookie crop is strong again, and includes Aussies Todd Wanless, Matthew Reed and Greg Hall, Kevin Ingle, Trevor Lewis, Dustin Selvage, Tasker Phillips, Wade Nygaard, Austin McCarl, Ryan Bickett, Brant O'Banion, Joey Moughan, Jordan Goldesberry and "The Moder Day Cowboy" Daron Clayton.
