Plenty of Racing, Fireworks This Week!
(Bill W) There will be plenty of racing this week at the Knoxville Raceway, as the famous ½ mile oval will hold three race nights.
The 18th Annual Harris Clash for the Modifieds on Tuesday night, July 7 has been postponed until Thursday, July 9! 120 of the best in IMCA modified competition will be on hand for the $2,000 to win/$200 to start shootout. The Harris Clash has grown into one of the biggest modified shows in the country! The format will be even more exciting this year, as six 20-car qualifiers and six last chance races will be run to determine the Harris Clash finale line-up!
The IMCA Deery Brothers Late Model series will be in attendance on Wednesday, July 8. The late models will shoot for a $2,000 first prize, and the sport mods will also be on the card. Sixty cars are pre-entered in each of those classes! These drivers are excited to compete at the historic fairgrounds, don’t miss it!
On Saturday, the Knoxville Championship Cup Series kicks into gear again with Wells Fargo Twin Feature Night for the 410 sprint car class. The 360s will also be in competition! Fireworks, postponed from last Friday, will serve as a nice finish to the week!
“Blackjack” Brian Brown has won three weekly shows in a row! Who can put an end to the streak? Will it be Terry McCarl, “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera, Lynton Jeffrey, “Zoom Zoom” Dusty Zomer, Don Droud Jr. or “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier? Who else will show up for two features in one night? Can someone win both of them? You’ve gotta be here to find out!
