Hy-Vee Night/Marion County Fair Highlight Saturday Action!
(Bill W) The action keeps getting better and better at the Knoxville Raceway! This week, the excitement reaches another level with Hy-Vee Night, and the Marion County Fair festivities. The fair runs Friday, July 17 through Thursday, July 23. Find the Fair schedule below including the Joey and Rory concert on Tuesday night, July 21!
A sprint car tripleheader is on Saturday’s schedule. “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera used a strong night last Saturday to grab a win and a second on Twin Features Night, regaining the point lead in the 410 sprint car class. “Blackjack” Brian Brown had things going his way until a motor let go in feature number one. He’ll take another shot at Herrera this weekend. Don Droud Jr. moved into third in the standings after a strong weekend, ahead of Dusty Zomer and Kerry Madsen. Expect to see more visitors coming as the SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil get closer. Around 80 early entries are already in for the August 12-15 event!
Clint Garner is still up top in the 360 point chase, but rookie, Jonathan Cornell narrowed the gap last week by winning his third feature of the year. Ryan Roberts, a surging ‘Beav’ Dennis Moore Jr. and Johnny “Lightning” Anderson round out the current top five in points.
The 305 sprints have been putting on some great shows with growing fields. Be sure to catch them as only two shows remain featuring a sprint car tripleheader!
