410/360 Championships Down to Two Races!
(Bill W) Point battles, particularly in the 410 class, are getting very interesting, and McKay Insurance/Allied Insurance Night on Saturday will play a big part in how things shape up! Clint Garner seems to be on solid ground in the 360 class.
Meanwhile, the point race in the 410 class is looking like it’s going to come down to two drivers. “Hollywood” Johnny Herrera, who won the track championship in 1995, has a 69 point lead on 2007 champion, “Blackjack” Brian Brown. “TMAC” Terry McCarl, who will be eligible for points if he attends the last two shows, and “Zoom Zoom” Dusty Zomer have an outside shot at the title if things go sour for either Herrera or Brown.
Don Droud Jr. is currently fifth in the 410 standings, ahead of Skip “Action” Jackson, “The Mad Man” Kerry Madsen, “Tornado” Billy Alley, Lynton Jeffrey and “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier.
The racing in both the 360 and 410 classes has been very exciting this season, with several drivers putting on charges in the feature, each and every week. Clint Garner is one of those, and holds a commanding 231.5 point lead over rookie, Jonathan Cornell in the 360 race. Ryan Roberts, a surging Dennis Moore Jr., and Dustin Selvage round out the top five in the competitive class.
The 305 class will be a part of the festivities as well, as their participation in the 1st Annual Casey’s Knoxville Non-wing Nationals was a wash. Join us for this sprint car tripleheader on Saturday!
