KNOXVILLE, IOWA (May 12) Knoxville Raceway is currently taking nominations for the 32nd Annual Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame. It should be noted that this is a different Hall of Fame than that of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum. Knoxville Raceway honors those who have made contributions to this track’s 57 years of weekly racing.

Hall of Fame night this year will be June 26 with induction ceremonies during the break in racing of the 410, 360 and 305 sprint divisions. The festivities include Earl Wagner (1979 inductee) Mural Night by the folks in Pleasantville (Iowa) who have completed a large mural in their downtown area dedicated to Earl. Ticket prices are the same as any regular season night of racing. The prior evening (June 25), Nostalgia at Knoxville and Hot Rod Reunion, will kick off the two-day weekend. A grandstand ticket that night sponsored by the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce will be five dollars.

If you know of someone who is worthy of being nominated as a Hall of Famer, be sure to make that nomination soon. All you have to do is write the nominee’s name on a piece of paper and drop it off at the ticket office or give it to a track official. It is helpful if you would also include some history and facts about your nominee’s career at Knoxville. Be sure to include addresses and phone numbers of yourself and the nominee as track officials will want to contact the parties involved. You can also turn in your nomination by e-mailing track historian Bob Wilson at bwilson@knoxvilleraceway.com
