KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 20, 2010) - The seventh annual $246,410 Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals, September 30-October 1-2, has seventy official entries, including the ‘best of the best’ in NASCAR stock car and dirt late model racing today. Amongst the entrants are NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, and Kenny Schrader; past Late Model Knoxville Nationals winners Scott Bloomquist (2005, ’09), Brady Smith (2007), Brian Shirley (2006), and Brian Birkhofer (2004); and former Knoxville race winners Josh Richards, Billy Moyer, Jimmy Mars, Justin Fegers, Darrell Lanigan and Darren Miller. Of course, that doesn’t even cover such other talented entrants as John Anderson, Kelly Boen, Dave Eckrich, Matt Miller, Dan Schlieper, Steve Francis, Shannon Babb, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson (Jr.), Scott James and 1974 World 100 winner Ed Sanger. The 100-lap feature winner on Saturday, October 2, will receive $40,000.

According to Knoxville Raceway director of marketing Brian Stickel, “This three-day Lucas Oil-sponsored event continues to draw the best stars and cars, from border-to-border and coast-to-coast, in dirt late model racing. We are again proud to be welcoming such travelers as John Duty of Oregon, Tyler Reddick of California, Austin Hubbard of Delaware, Eddie Kirchoff of Wyoming, Matt Lux of Pennsylvania, Brad Neat of Kentucky, Kerry Hansen of Wisconsin, Chad Chenoweth of South Dakota, ‘Bub’ McCool of Mississippi, and Iowa’s own Jill George.
