Saturday, July 2, 2005
Canadians Travis Rutz of British Columbia and Cody Geldart of Ontario. Australians Brooke Tatnell of New South Wales and Jaymie Moyle of South Australia. Americans Travis Rilat of Texas and Brent Antill of Iowa. Those are the six latest entrants for the $10,000-to-win Clean-O World Challenge international invitational at the Knoxville Raceway on Friday, August 12, during the 45th annual Knoxville Nationals. The current number of drivers signed up for the $40,000 event stands at twenty (20), which is an event record.

Travis Rutz (pronounced Roots), a regular on Fred Brownfield’s Northern Sprint Tour (NST), will compete in the special challenge race in his father’s Wilson & Company/Frontier Chevrolet-sponsored Richmond-powered Rocket chassis number 8R sprinter. Cody Geldart, last year’s Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS) champion, will be competing in his father’s Hampshire-powered Eagle sprint car number 6G. The Hoosier-shod sprinter sports sponsorship from Ohsweken Speedway, Geldart Transport, Butler Built Seats, Image Factor and Kear’s Speed Shop. Both event rookies are hoping to secure starting spots in the front eight rows of the field, which will be inverted based on qualifying night Nationals points.

Australian Brooke Tatnell and American Travis Rilat are both currently competing on the tough World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series national tour this season. Tatnell, a five-time World Challenge runner-up, will wheel the Rush Racing Ott-powered Eagle sprinter number 8, which is sponsored by Segway, Steel Dreams, Castrol and Coachman. Rilat, the 2003 World Challenge champion, can be seen in Rick Wright’s Wright Construction number 35 machine.

American Brent Antill and Australian Jaymie Moyle are both Knoxville Raceway regulars and are expected to be tough competitors in the twelfth annual affair. Moyle steers his own Moyle-powered Brown & Miller/Rod End Supply-sponsored Maxim number 5m machine. Antill, who stood on the World Challenge podium in 1998, has entered the Jordan Brothers Racing/J.R. Motorsports Salina-powered Maxim number 1 sprint car. To date, eight Americans, five Australians, four New Zealanders and three Canadians have entered the Clean-O World Challenge, presented by www.fleetbuyinggroup.com.
