Deer Creek Speedway

Sunday, June 12, 2011
It was a beautiful night for a race at Deer Creek Speedway last night for the IRA show. We started off the night by being 6th quick, 13.556, of 29 cars. The track got slick quick and we lost it going into turn one in our the heat race. We made contact with the wall and had to come in and make major changes. With the help of Mike Reinke's team and Jody Rosenblum's team we were able to to put in a new front axle and a new jacob's ladder in just in time to make it to the B. We started on the pole and led the entire 15 laps, through many restarts, until Todd King took the lead going into four and came out first across the finish line.
We started 6th row inside of the A main with a total of 22 cars lined up for the 30 lap feature. After the 4 wide salute the dust rose and the cars started spinning out on the slick track. Quite a few cautions were thrown and with 21 laps left, we were sitting in tenth fighting the 2B off our spot. As the white flag was thrown for the leaders, we spun out in turn four. The 2B tried made contact with us and he went through the our frame on the right-hand side of the car. Both cars were towed off the track and thankfully both drivers were unharmed. We were very disappointed we could not finish the last lap, but overall we had a successful night and got in some great laps.
Thank you again to Mike Reinke's team and Jody Rosenblum's team for helping us get the car back on the track.
We are going to work very hard this week to get the car ready to race for Rock Rapid Speedway's Friday show and Knoxville's Saturday show.
See you all next week!
