2012 Muffler Requirements

Race seasons getting closer and it appears there are still questions about the muffler requirements at Knoxville Raceway this year.
The new Schoenfeld 14272735-78 is required at all 410 and 360 shows this year. It is very important that the stamped number have a 78 at the end.
Also these mufflers have an in and an out. Some teams have asked if they can run turn downs. We do not like to have 90 degree turndowns pointing down at the track. Please try
to use a more open cut on the turn down and face them out if running them. We understand that there will be a few glitches along the way,and will try to prepare for them.
If you have not received your information about getting a comped set of mufflers please call the Race Track
at 641-842-5431 and ask for Shelly. You must have been in the points last year in either class to qualify. The 305 class can continue to run the same mufflers as last year.
