Bates Stays Sharp Behind The Wheel

Saturday, March 17, 2012
If you can close your eyes and imagine 15 5hp briggs and stratton motors running in your back yard, and then imagine those same motors with open headers, billet parts throughout, breathing methanol and strapped to a 200lb flat kart, you would be living what Andy did on March 17th in Marshalltown, Iowa. Andy had the opportunity to pilot the Jason Gingerich #4 Kart for the night and return to the same 4 wheels that he cut his teeth on as a driver. Andy took well to the small indoor dirt track, where 7 second laps are the norm. Andy posted one top 5 finish and a win in two separate classes, netting him some quick cash and confidence heading into the 2012 season.
