$1,000-to-Win Dash Event Added to “Capitani Classic”
For Winged 410 c.i. Sprint Cars on Sunday, August 5 at Knoxville
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 1, 2012) - The inaugural $5,000-to-win “Capitani Classic” for winged 410-cubic-inch sprint cars, which will take place on Sunday, August 5, at the Knoxville Raceway, just got bigger. A $1,000-to-win Dash has just been added to the Sunday night program and it will be open to the quick qualifier from each state/province represented on the evening. The dash, which pays $200 to start, will have no bearing on the ‘A’ Main starting line-up. Starting positions for the dash will be drawn by selected fans and given to the drivers, similar to a ‘revenge draw’.
The $26,100 purse for the inaugural Capitani Classic ‘A’ Main is as follows:

In making the announcement today, Knoxville Raceway general manager Toby Kruse made it clear that international drivers are welcome in the Dash, as their states, provinces and/or territories will be treated similarly to America ’s states. The total purse for Sunday, August 5, is budgeted at $41,425.
