We are saddened to learn of the passing of Knoxville Raceway Hall of Famer Lenard McCarl. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Judy, sons Terry, Kenny, daughter Cindy, and their entire family.

Lenard was a driver, owner, builder and mechanic. He first came to Knoxville during the 1968 Nationals. He was an 11-time participant as a driver and a 4-time owner entrant in that event. His Nationals record also shows him to be a 3-time A-Main qualifier with a best finish of 12th in 1975. As a driver he has two career feature wins and as an owner he has 11. His personal best in the season point standings was second (1975) but as an owner he won the track title with Randy Smith in 1983 and with Rocky Hodges in 1984.

Lenard was inducted into the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame in 1985.
