What were your first impressions of Knoxville the first time you raced here?

“The first time I raced at Knoxville was 2010, I remember thinking how big the track was and how cool it was to be racing there.”

How did it feel to win at Knoxville?

“Winning at Knoxville was amazing! Knoxville was always such an epic place growing up, to not only get to race there but to win there was really special. It’s something I won’t forget.”

What are your overall racing career goals?

“I started out racing wanting to make it to NASCAR or Indy Car, so that goal is always present. But, I love what I’m doing right now. My goal is to make the best living possible for as long as I can while driving race cars.”

Talk about the growth of interesting in USAC racing- what do you credit growth that to?

“I think you can contribute the growth of interest in USAC racing to the fact that we have a really competitive group of exciting drivers. There are a lot of guys that can win on any night, and that forces you to race really hard every night. I think the fans are starting see and appreciate that. Also, USAC along with the teams and drivers are doing more to promote ourselves than we have in the past.”

How do you balance your racing career with having a family?

“Balancing racing and family can be tough at times, we’re on the road a fair amount and me not being home can be hard on everyone. The plus side is that when I’m not racing I’m at home, so the weeks where we’re not traveling and during the off season I get to be home more than most would get to be. I’m fortunate I have an amazing wife, when I’m gone it’s just her with the kids and the house and everything that goes along with that. That’s the most important part, having a wife that understands racing and how much goes into it.”
