Knoxville Raceway To Hold “Christmas in July” Race Night on July 25

Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Knoxville Raceway is preparing to host the merriest night of racing all season! Thanks to partners Jersey Freeze from Monroe and Dennison Racing Tee’s, the 1/2-mile dirt track will treat fans of all ages to a “Christmas in July” celebration.

“We’re really excited to add a little joy and festiveness to everyone’s race weekend,” said Kendra Jacobs, Director of Marketing at Knoxville Raceway. “This year has been rough for a lot of different reasons, but adding a little holiday celebration, Christmas lights and Santa Claus on “Christmas in July” night will hopefully be something different and fun that the fans and community enjoy.”

The first-ever “Christmas in July” celebration will have Santa Claus passing out gifts to the first 200 children, ages 12 and under, with a grandstand ticket.

KNIA/KRLS will be playing Christmas music at the track throughout the afternoon. The race night will also include Christmas music throughout the event and a Christmas Attire contest for fans.

The Avenue of Champions, which honors NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s champions, will turn into Avenue of Trees for Jersey Freeze/Dennison Racing Tee’s “Christmas in July” race night on July 25. All local businesses, non-profit organizations, groups and clubs are invited to decorate a Christmas tree to have on display on the Avenue of Trees on race night. Fans will be able to “vote” on the best tree by making a monetary donation of any amount in each tree’s donation container. The organization whose tree has the highest amount of donations will win a 16-person suite for the September 26 Knoxville Hospital & Clinics/Slideways season finale at the track.

All donations will be combined and donated to the Knoxville Scholarship Fund.

Organizations who want to participate, should RSVP to Kendra Jacobs – KendraJ@KnoxvilleRaceway.com – by Noon on Friday, July 24. Organizations should also provide a one- to two-paragraph information sheet to have on display with their tree. Trees should be up and completed by 4pm on Saturday, July 25.
Tickets for the race night are available at the ticket office on race day. Adult tickets are $15, teen tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are free.
