Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to Sponsor Late Model Nationals Driver/Celebrity/Fan Golf Tournament

Knoxville, IA (September 15, 2005)- Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has signed on to be the title sponsor of the Knoxville Late Model Nationals Driver/Celebrity/Fan Golf Tournament. Fans will get the chance to golf with a driver and celebrity in a 18 hole 4-person best ball tournament format held at Pine Knolls Country Club located in Knoxville, IA. Each foursome will have one driver and one celebrity and two race fans The Goodyear Driver/Celebrity/Fan Golf Outing will include 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch and a chance to win several prizes.

Drivers who have committed to play in the golf tournament include: Brian Birkhofer, Ray Cook, Rick Eckert, Bart Hartman, John Duty, Donnie Moran, Dale McDowell, Earl Pearson Jr. and Matt Miller. Celebrities include renowned author and television broadcaster Dave Argabright, Doc Lehman and Knoxville Raceway's own Ralph Capitani. Race fans that enter to play in the tournament will be put into a drawing and each fan's name will be drawn out the day of the tournament to determine what foursome the fan will play in. For fans wanting to play in this tournament the cost is $35 a person. Limited spots are still available and can be reserved by calling Karen Owen at Knoxville Raceway.

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company will also have a presence in the Trade Show Fan/Fest all three days of the event. Goodyear will provide fans a chance to drive a dirt late model racecar simulator while attending the Fan Fest. The full scale replica dirt late model will be in the Goodyear booth for fans to experience what its like to drive a 700 horsepower dirt late model around Knoxville Raceway. Fans can enter a special contest each day by competing against the simulator to determine the fastest lap each day among the fans that enter the contest. Each day a grand prize winner will be awarded a prize packagecompliments of Goodyear to the fan that turns the fastest lap. Several of the drivers attending the event will post laps in the simulator and the first fan to beat their time will receive a prize as well.

The Goodyear Driver/ Celebrity/Fan Golf Outing with associate sponsorship from Racexr.com and Fast Lane will take place Friday September 30, 2005 at Pine Knolls Country Club located at 1202 S. Attica Road, Knoxville, IA. Everyone is asked to be at the club house by 8:00am and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start time of 8:30am. Each player is required to bring their own golf clubs.
