Eldora World 100 'Top 12' All Ready for Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals

The ‘top twelve’ drivers from this month’s World 100 at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway are all ready for next week’s $35,000-to-win second annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals, presented by Sunoco Race Fuels, at the Knoxville Raceway, September 29-30-October 1. Included in this group are such superstars as World 100 champion Dale McDowell, runner-up Darren Miller, Chub Frank, Clint Smith, defending Knoxville 100-lap winner Brian Birkhofer, former Pennsylvania Posse sprint car racer Rick Eckert, former DIRT modified racer Tim McCreadie, Billy Drake, Mike Marlar, Dan Schlieper, Shane Clanton, and Ray Cook, respectively.

Joining Eldora’s ‘top twelve’ at Knoxville are World of Outlaws (WoO) point leader Billy Moyer, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point leader Don O’Neal, World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) point leader Denny Eckrich, Pacific Coast Xtreme Dirt Car Series (PCXDCS) point leader Greg Walters, Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) point leader Terry Phillips, and National Championship Racing Association (NCRA) point leader Johnny Bone, Jr. In addition, elite dirt late model racers Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson, Jr., Steve Francis, Shannon Babb, Donnie Moran, Steve Shaver, Matt Miller, Jimmy Mars, Josh Richards, Justin Allgaier, Kyle Berck and Canadian champion Mike Balcaen are all entered in the prestigious $220,000 Speed Channel-televised event.

In addition to the on-track action, the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals will also feature many other events, including the three-day Lucas Oil/PBM Performance Products/Vermeer Manufacturing Trade Show & Fan Fest, the Thursday-Friday afternoon International Reel Wheel Film Festival at the Village Theatre on Knoxville's downtown square, the Friday morning Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Driver/Celebrity/Fan Golf Tournament at the Pine Knolls Country Club, the Saturday afternoon Celebrity Waiter Dinner & Auction at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, and the Saturday afternoon "Meet the Drivers" autograph session in the Dyer-Hudson Building on the Marion County Fairgrounds.
