KRCO Has Another Successful Year

Monday, September 26, 2005
Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization had another successful year raising money through selling 50/50 tickets at Knoxville Raceway for the 2005 season. The Board of Directors would like to thank the race fans, Knoxville Raceway staff, pit crews, and drivers for buying the tickets. 50% of the money raised each night is given out to a lucky person(s) and the remaining money, after expenses, goes in the fund to be spent on promoting driver safety through preventive measures.

Last year at the racing banquet each driver qualifying for the point fund was gifted a state of the art racing helmet and gloves. KRCO also paid for additional insurance for each driver. This year's gift will prove to be just as exciting!

KRCO is run by a nine member board. In order to be successful the board is a very hard working board. Much volunteer time is given by the board members. At least three members of the board are at each race running the booth, balancing the money, and managing the drawing.

Terry and Lori McCarl have been long time board members but because of their racing sschedule have submitted their resignation from the board. The board accepted with regret. KRCO is seeking two board members to replace them. Sarah Hesmer, President says "It will be hard to replace Terry and Lori, their knowledge and contacts were invaluable to us. However, we look forward to new members and new ideas."
