FattFro Motorsports Poker Event a Success!

Wednesday, November 23, 2005
Knoxville, IA: Following the recent Knoxville Raceway Awards Banquet, FATTFRO Motorsports hosted the 1st Annual “Texas Hold Em” Charity Poker Event in an effort to raise money for local charity “Knoxville Raceway Charity Organization” (KRCO). In all, over 50 drivers, owners, wives and pit crew members were on hand to usher in the event. Knoxville Raceway Charity Organization (KRCO) was chosen as the 2005 benefactor of the event through their own efforts at the Knoxville Raceway. “Their mission statement is simple and says it all,” commented FATTFRO Motorsports head Al Christoffer: "To promote driver safety through preventative measures and to provide financial assistance for regular Knoxville drivers injured at the Knoxville Raceway."

Wayne Johnson of FATTFRO Motorsports quoted "We feel very fortunate to have an organization like the KRCO backing us drivers and we at FATTFRO Motorsports wanted to start something to help give back to those that support us. I talked it over with Al at FATTFRO and he was all for the idea. We thought about what we could do and the “Texas Hold Em” event seemed like a great way to get a bunch of the drivers & teams together to enjoy a big poker game and give back to the KRCO." Christoffer continued, “We need to support those in our racing community that support us anytime we can. Each driver received a Design 500 driving suit and a set of Crow belts at the banquet and that is what a group like the KRCO does for the drivers. We were not only very pleased with the amount of support we had from those that played, but also from the sponsors that donated gifts for the top three winners and the door prizes. “ Those door prizes included and were donated by the following members of the racing community:

Blake @ BR Motorsports and DMI donated a Bulldog rear end for the 1st place prize (won by 2005 Knoxville champion Kerry Madsen) Jason @ FAST Wings, Inc. donated a top & nose wing for runner up (won by Randy Anderson) Third place won 2 tickets from Knoxville Raceway, a free cell phone for 30 days from Cell Stop and a one night stay at the Red Carpet Motel in Knoxville. (won by Dave Giannetto)

Additional thanks go out to the following sponsors for helping to make the outing a success as well: Duane Davis/Laser Engraving; Simpson Race Products; Wesmar Racing Engines; F5 Chassis; Lucas Oil/Ricky Logan; Kerry Madsen; Dave Hill; Jocko’s Sprint Parts and Adam Lucas Productions. In all, over $2000 was raised by the event for KRCO. Plans are already in the works for next years 2nd Annual FATTFRO “Texas Hold Em” Charity Poker Tournament. Watch for the time and place to be announced mid summer, 2006.
