Sprint Invaders Association & West Aussie 360's Commit to Brodix ToC

Friday, December 9, 2005
The Sprint Invaders Association (SIA), which placed second in tournament team points in 2003, and the Western Australian Sprintcar Driver to America Series (WASDAS) have both committed to the $5,000-to-win Brodix Tournament of Champions (ToC) at the Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 6, 2006. WASDAS is a six-race mini-series for winged 360-cubic-inch sprint cars which will take place at the Quit Motorplex in Kwinana, W.A., and at the Northam (W.A.) Speedway. WASDAS joins the Premier-Avalon-Speedway City (PAS) mini-series in Victoria and South Australia, the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS) in eastern Canada, and the Alberta Sprint Tour (AST) in western Canada as international Brodix ToC affiliates in 2006.

Sprint Invaders made their ultra-successful Brodix ToC debut in 2003 with SIA representatives Jerrod Hull and Terry McCarl winning the preliminary and final night shows, respectively. The family- and fan-friendly organization races primarily in eastern Iowa, western Illinois and northern Missouri, with the membership-based sanction ably led by a board of directors including president Bart Schneiderman.

The WASDAS mini-series race dates in Western Australia have been confirmed as follows: December 27 – Kwinana, January 2 – Kwinana, January 14 – Northam, February 11 – Kwinana, March 10/11 – Kwinana, and April 1 – Kwinana. Quit Motorplex speedway racing manager Gavin Migro will coordinate the mini-series, which will have its top five drivers in points be invited to participate in Knoxville’s Brodix ToC. In 2005, Aussie Brett Milburn represented the Avalon and Premier tracks in the ToC finale.

Thus, fifteen sanctions have already confirmed participation in the 2006 Brodix Tournament of Champions, including host Knoxville Raceway (KNOX), Alberta Sprint Tour (AST), American Sprint Car Series – Gulf South Region (ASCS – GS), American Sprint Car Series – Rocky Mountain Region (ASCS-RM), National Championship Racing Association (NCRA), National Racing Alliance (NRA), Northern Sprint Tour (NST), Patriot Sprint Group (PSG), Sprint Invaders Association (SIA), Sprints On Dirt (SOD), Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS), United Racing Company (URC), Western Australian Sprintcar Driver to America Series (WASDAS), Winged Outlaw Warriors (WOW), and the partnership of Australia’s Avalon Raceway, Speedway City and Premier Speedway’s Sungold Stadium (PAS).

The technical rules for the Brodix Tournament of Champions will be dictated by the Knoxville Raceway, and they will be the same for the Thursday-Friday-Saturday, August 3-4-5, 2006 Knoxville 360 Nationals.
