The Sleeping Giant is about to ROAR!

Saturday, April 9, 2005
Knoxville, IA - by Bruce Neimeth – While the business office at Knoxville Raceway is a busy place all year, the surrounding areas get eerily quiet from mid-October until . . . . NOW!

Yep! The Bud guy is bringing lots of Little “E”s favorite beverage. Ditto for the Pepsi guy (Jeff’s favorite) plus all kinds of “low carb” stuff – Pizza Hut pizzas, hot dogs, snacks, nachos! And lots more that I can’t remember right now!

Deb and Chris are bringing new 2005 racing Ts and other merchandise to help you say “I’ve been to Knoxville Raceway” to all your pals that haven’t. Wait till you see the new Knoxville Raceway and 45th Annual Knoxville Nationals hats Deb designed. For those want to get an early start on Chris’ cool stuff, go to www.knoxvilleracewear.com.

The track’s taking shape with alittle “Gumbo” that Chris is working in here and there, while Lori and Dwayne have tested the timing & scoring “little black box” and says it’s ready to go. MUSCO folks are tweaking the light system; Fire trucks & extinguishers have been checked and rechecked.

The North Campgrounds has more action than the Arizona border with campers and RVs moving in everyday. Even Doug Clark’s fancy “home away from home” is ready for his annual return to civilization from winter in the “Dakotas”.

The last test will be when Bob Wilson fires up the new “live race-by-race results” on the www.knoxvilleraceway.com Web site. Everyone that’s seen it in action says it really neat.

The real proof is next Friday, April 15th when the track opens for practice. Admission is free. Come on down to Knoxville and listen to the ROAR.
