Results for 1995 and 1994 Now Posted!

by Bill Wright – Comprehensive results and everything you wanted to know about the 1995 and 1994 race seasons at Knoxville are now up in our “Previous Results” sections. We are continuing on our trek back to 1954, and leaving no stones unturned. Check out in depth sprint stats from each season including qualifying orders, starting spots, complete finishes, stories, and points results complete with feature wins, laps led and cars driven.

1995

Johnny Herrera took the track title aboard Guy Forbrook’s #5. Herrera took five Knoxville features including an All Star tally. Terry McCarl finished second in the point standings in the McCroskey #24 and recorded four wins. In all, there were eleven different winners in the 410 class, including local Craig Dollansky’s win over the WoO in June and Steve Kinser’s Nationals win.

Larry Pinegar II took four feature wins on his way to the 360 title. Danny Lasoski took the 360 Nationals, and in all, 11 different drivers scored feature wins in that class.

1994

Danny Lasoski dominated the 410 class in winning the track title in Gil Sonner’s 47. He won ten feature events (including one WoO tally) and led an incredible 149 feature laps. Terry McCarl finished a distant second, utilizing four different machines and winning in two of them. Ray Lipsey scored his final Knoxville win to date the week before Nationals, Skip Jackson won his first of many feature events, and Steve Kinser won the Nationals again. Ten different drivers scored wins in the 410 class.

Lee Nelson won the 360 track title pulling down three features including the 360 Nationals. Scott Whitworth finished only 40 points behind him and also registered a win. Randy Martin may have been the most dominant driver despite missing a few weeks. His points were enough to garner third in the standings, as he recorded his first six Knoxville victories. Nine different drivers won feature events in 1994.
