by Bill Wright - Six-time Knoxville track champion Terry McCarl was crowned the champion of the Ronald Laney King of the 360s at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, FL Saturday night. McCarl won in Mark Burch's #1m after battling with Greg Wilson early in the contest and took home $10,000 for his efforts. Wilson was able to hold down second in the 40-lapper ahead of Jason Sides, who finished third all three nights of the event. Oklahoma's Darren Stewart came home fourth ahead of fellow Sooner Nick Smith. 78 cars competed in the finale.

Subbing for Natalie Sather in the family's 94s and getting help from crew chief and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee, Kenny Woodruff, was 2005 Knoxville 410 regular Wayne Johnson (pictured). Johnson was able to win his heat race from the front row, and come home 11th in the finale.

410 regular Jesse Giannetto may have made the most laps over the three nights of any driver. After finishing third in his heat race, Giannetto won from the pole in his B main. Starting 20th in the 24-car finale, he brought the family #D1 to 14th.

1975 Knoxville track champion, Roger Rager, finished second in his heat race. He would finish 18th in the finale in Kevin Frey's #2K.

2005 Knoxville 360 track champion Jake Peters was involved in a four car tangle in his heat race. That relegated him to the C where he charged from tenth to third and the final transfer. His run would end in his B with a 12th place finish.

360 regular Josh Higday drove his #24 to sixth in his heat race and seventh in his B.

Third in 2005 360 points, Johnny Anderson got into a tangle and upset the family #7a in his heat race. He would make it back out for the C, but limp to an 11th place finish.
