As the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicks off it's 2006 racing season the first seven events will carry a total purse of nearly $225,000 in prize money. Those fans that are unable to attend either Golden Isles or East Bay can listen live each night to catch the racing action. Announcers for the Golden Isles race will be O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass announcer, Dustin Jarrett and acclaimed marketing director, Wayne Castleberry. When the series hits East Bay, Jarrett and veteran dirt track announcer, Michael Despain will call all the action.

"With Knoxville scheduling more dirt late model events in '06 it is a great marketing tool for them to get the word out to the thousands of fans nationwide" said Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Director, Spencer Wilson. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its first ever appearance at Knoxville Raceway on Friday Night, July 21 as part of the "Iowa Telecom Classic" and will also be supporting the Third Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals on September 28, 29 and 30.

The website www.RaceTalkLive.com was used for the first time in 2005 by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series which had the largest listening audience ever recorded for an event last July when nearly 50,000 fans nationwide heard Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Announcer and P.R. Director, James Essex and Dave Seay call the action from Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA.
