Terry McCarl's Big Game Tree Stands WoO Sprinter to Represent Knoxville at Des Moines Sports Show

East Bay Raceway Park’s 2006 King of the 360’s and ‘06 Winternationals champion Terry McCarl of Altoona will have his Big Game Tree Stands-sponsored sprint car at next week’s Des Moines Sports Show in the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The winged 410-cubic-inch Eagle sprinter will be in booths 917-918, representing the Knoxville Raceway, Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, and the Knoxville-based National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, at the February 15-19 trade show. According to museum executive director Tom Schmeh, “There isn’t a hotter sprint car racer in the world right now than Terry McCarl after his twin $10,000-to-win victories last week in Tampa, so we’re thrilled that he’ll have his World of Outlaws sprinter in our booth at the Des Moines show.”

McCarl’s Wesmar-powered sprint car is sponsored by Big Game Tree Stands, Clean-O, Bosma Poultry, GroundMax Hunting Blinds, and www.AmericashAdvance.com. 2006 will mark the second consecutive year that McCarl, the six-time Knoxville Raceway point champion, will represent Knoxville at this regional sports and recreation event.

The Des Moines Sports Show is one of five trade shows in which the Knoxville-based dirt track, museum and chamber of commerce have cooperated jointly. The other shows in Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis and Omaha also involve the nearby Pella Chamber of Commerce, the Marion County Development Commission and the Pella Historical Society as marketing partners. According to race track director Ralph Capitani, “The Marion County Fair Association realizes that it needs to be pro-active in marketing its events, including the midget car (June 2-3), winged 360 c.i. sprint car (August 3-5), winged 410 c.i. sprint car (August 9-12), and dirt late model stock car (September 28-30) ‘national championship’ shows.”
