Geoff Dodge drives the World of Outlaws to Indy

Saturday, April 1, 2006
Knoxville, IA - Geoff Dodge will achieve two lifelong dreams when he pulls onto the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway 2.5-mile oval for practice in April. The first is to drive a race car at Indy, the second is running with the World of Outlaws as his partner as he gets ready for the Indy Pro Series Freedom 100 on May 26.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has joined Brian Stewart Racing as a sponsor for Geoff Dodge’s No. 33 Knoxville Fast Track to Indy car for the 2006 season. Dodge, the 2005 Knoxville Nationals Fast Track to Indy Rookie of the Year, earned a ride with the 2005 Indy Pro Series
Championship team at all six of the oval track races, including the Freedom 100 at The Brickyard.

The World of Outlaws is in its 29th season as the premier Sprint Car series in the world, presenting championship-caliber winged sprint car events with 900 horsepower machines from coast to coast.

“We look forward being a part of the continued connection between open wheel racing on dirt and the Indy 500,” said DIRT MotorSports VP of Race Operations Shane Carson. “During the 29 years a number of World of Outlaws racers have made it to Indy for the Indy Pro Series and the Indy 500,
including Steve Kinser, Craig Dollansky and P.J. Chesson. At the same time we have recognized theannual Knoxville Nationals as the premier Sprint Car race in the world.”

Dodge, a 22-year-old student at Colorado State University, grew up in Colorado Springs, Colo.,watching his father, Dick, race sprint cars and compete in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Dodge also made sure not to miss the Indianapolis 500 on television, dreaming of the day he would be among the 33 starters.

To take advantage of the Fast Track to Indy opportunity he has put his studies on hold this year and relocated to Speedway, Ind. When not installing drywall to pay his rent, he makes himself available to the Indy Pro Series, the Indy Racing League and his sponsors to support their activities. His seventh-place run in the season opener March 26 at Homestead-Miami Speedway was declared a success by his peers and has led to a ride in his team’s top car on the St. Petersburg, Fla., street
course this weekend.
