Knoxville Raceway Appoints Brian Stickel as Director of Marketing and Sales

KNOXVILLE, IA – The Knoxville Raceway has hired Brian Stickel as Director of Marketing and Sales. Stickel comes to the position with a wealth of knowledge in event production and promotion including events with the National Hot Rod Association, ESPN’s X-Games and the 1996 Olympics. Brian will be leaving his position as Executive Director of the Knoxville Chamber and Economic Development Growth Alliance and comes to the raceway ready to assist the historic track and it’s anticipated new growth.

“As the former Pacific Division Director for the National Hot Rod Association and having worked with big events such as the Olympics and X-Games, Brian brings experience to the position that should greatly enhance our marketing and sponsorships.” Stated Ralph Capitani, Knoxville Raceway’s Director. “We are very excited to have someone with his experience and knowledge in this position.”

“I have worked with the Raceway as a business partner since 2003, and this opportunity brings me back to what I love to do, events and racing.” Said Stickel. “Knoxville Raceway is an icon in motorsports. Anyone who knows anything about racing has heard of this track and the tradition behind it. I am just happy to be a part of it and I hope I can be a positive influence for the facility.”

Stickel has served as Pacific Division Director for the National Hot Rod Association, Managing Director for the National Off Road Bicycle Association and Competition Manger for Mountain Bike Racing in the 1996 Olympic Games. He has worked with ESPN for the first X-Games and has owned his own event promotion and production company.
