A Blast from the Past at Knoxville Raceway Friday

A Blast from the Past at Knoxville Raceway Friday
Monday, June 12, 2006
No, it’s not the Lone Ranger and Tonto! It’s Nostalgia Night this Friday featuring antique sprints, midgets and champ cars from as far back as the 30s & 40s to the roaring machines of the 60s & 70s.

The cars will take to the famous ½ mile dirt track throughout the night in what some call exhibition races. But once the green flag flies, it can get down right competitive out there. Be it bragging rights or the commemorative Knoxville Raceway Dash Plaque, once a driver, always a driver. In 2005 the “kids” behind the wheel ranged from their 30s too their 80s.

The infield is open after the “races” for a close up look at these great cars. For those that want to spend the night in the infield a pit pass is $3.00. Grandstand admission for all ages is also $3.00. Add a visit to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum outside turn 2 for $3.00 and you’ve got a full day of fun and excitement.
