KNOXVILLE, Iowa - September 2 - The 53rd season of weekly racing at Knoxville Raceway ended Saturday night as Jon Corbin captured the final 360 feature event. The final 410 feature was rain-postponed until October 7 during the make-up World of Outlaws event. Track officials are hoping to run it right after qualifying time trials on that night.

The rain event forced a two-hour delay until the call was made to postpone the season championship for the 410 division until October. The track championship will be up in the air until then as Billy Alley holds a narrow 45 points lead over runner-up Brian Brown in one of the closest championship battles in decades. With the feature race now being run in one month, the drivers can decide the outcome rather than allowing the weather to do so.
