Canadian Sprint Car Nationals to be 2007 Knoxville World Challenge Qualifier

The second annual Arrow Express Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at the Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, on Saturday, September 16, is confirmed as the first international qualifier for the Knoxville World Challenge at the Knoxville Raceway on Friday, August 10, 2007, during the 47th annual Knoxville Nationals. Sprint car drivers from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand that compete in the $6,000-to-win show at Ohsweken will qualify for the $10,000-to-win international invitational at Knoxville, which will again be a points-paying round of the 2007 Cox Design Southern Iowa SprintWeek championship.

Sprint car sanctioning bodies that are affiliated with the Arrow Express Canadian Sprint Car Nationals include the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS), American Sprint Car Series - Patriot Sprint Group (ASCS-PSG), Empire Super Sprints (ESS), National Racing Alliance (NRA), American Sprint Car Series - Sprints On Dirt (ASCS-SOD) and the United Racing Company (URC). Past Knoxville World Challenge participants have included such Canadians as defending SOS champion Adam West of Ontario, Toni Lutar of British Columbia, Chris Schmelzle of British Columbia, Jack Pillon of Ontario, Ryan Coniam of Ontario, Cody Geldart of Ontario, and Tony Menard of British Columbia.

Other Canadians expected to compete at Ohsweken are Kyle Patrick of Ontario, Alain Bergeron of Quebec, Steve Poirer of Quebec, Fred Pigeon of British Columbia, Rick Wilson of Ontario, Kyle Wilson of Ontario, April Wilson of Ontario, Ohsweken promoter Glenn Styres of Ontario, Warren Mahoney of Ontario, Bob Crawford of Ontario, Dick Mahoney of Ontario, Joe Middlemiss of Ontario, Justin Harris of Ontario, and Fred Cade of Ontario.
