Randy Smith edged Danny Lasoski in the 1987 410 season points race. Jeff Tuttle pulled down more feature wins than either of the leaders. Mike Chadd won the Limited Sprint title. Outside of a preliminary win by Brad Doty in April, Steve Kinser dominated Knoxville Raceway that season and captured his record 5th Knoxville Nationals.
