Knoxville, IA – Donnie Schatz, 2006 Knoxville Nationals Champion thinks a “2nd” would be okay on August 11th, as long as it’s his 2nd SuperClean Knoxville Nationals victory. The Fargo, North Dakota driver capped off the 2006 season with 17 World of Outlaws wins, the 2006 World of Outlaws Series Championship and 8 Australian Tour wins. The 2007 season World of Outlaws season finds Donnie in 2nd place with the 3 wins to date.

Early entries from Daryn Pittman, 3rd, and Terry McCarl, 6th in 2007 World of Outlaws points, brings two drivers that have enjoyed past success on the fast ½ mile track. Pittman won the 2004 and 2005 Knoxville World Challenge, run on Friday night of the Nationals each year, and enjoyed a 10th place finish in the 2006 Knoxville Nationals. McCarl, 6-time Knoxville Raceway “410” season Champion, was in the hunt for the 2005 Nationals win until a tire sealed over late in the race. In 2006 Terry had to run the ‘C” and “B” features to move into the 46th Annual Knoxville Nationals for a 24th place finish.

Tony Bruce, Jr., 2006 Knoxville Nationals Rookie-of-the-year, with a 22nd place finish, felt that just making the field of 24 out of 129 cars entered was an honor. He comes to Knoxville in 2007 with a full season of traveling the country under his belt, having made the feature events over 80% of the time.

With over $909,000 in prize money for the 4-day 47th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals on August 8-11th, the 2007 Champion will take home $150,000. Second place will pay $75,000 and third place $37,500. Reserved seats for all 4 days are available now online at www.knoxvilleraceway.com, or by calling (641) 842-5431.
