5 More Int'l. Drivers Qualify For Clean-O World Challenge

Knoxville Raceway’s World of Outlaws (WoO) show last night qualified five more international drivers for the Clean-O World Challenge, to be held as the evening finale on Friday, August 12, during the 45th annual Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals. Those additional drivers receiving invitations following last night’s qualifier are Ryan Coniam of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and Australians Lynton Jeffrey of Sydney, New South Wales, A.J. “Skip” Jackson of Sydney, Peter Murphy of Sydney, and Jaymie Moyle of Bridgewater, South Australia. According to Knoxville’s director of racing, “We really appreciate the fact that the international sprint car racers continue to support the ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’. Heck, several have even made Knoxville their ‘home away from home’ by marrying local girls and settling down here!”
In addition to those five drivers, previously qualified international drivers Brooke Tatnell of San Souci, New South Wales, and Kerry Madsen of Sydney were in attendance on Friday night. And seven Americans were also competing who had participated in Clean-O World Challenge qualifiers in Australia or New Zealand this past winter: Daryn Pittman of Oklahoma, Billy Alley of Nebraska, Tim Kaeding of California, Donny Schatz of North Dakota, Shane Stewart of Oklahoma, Brent Antill of Iowa, and Randy Hannagan of California. In addition, Stevie Walsh of North Shore City, New Zealand, who qualified for the Clean-O World Challenge at Willie Kay’s Bay Park Speedway, will be competing in tonight’s companion 360-cubic-inch sprint car races.
The final Clean-O World Challenge, presented by www.fleetbuyinggroup.com, international qualifier is set for Wednesday, June 8, at the Budweiser Motorsports Park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Bud Park event is part of the all-new Fountain Tire Alberta Sprint Tour (AST).
