KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 5, 2008) - The names of the twelve lucky winners in the National Sprint Car Museum’s “Early Qualifiers Drawing” were announced today in Knoxville, Iowa. The names are as follows:

Hal Monroe (Louisiana),

Dick Aumiller (Pennsylvania),

Melvin Dutkiewicz (Connecticut),

George Grauwels (Wisconsin),

Don Simmons (Michigan),

Christopher Pluto (Minnesota),

Cody Howard (Mississippi),

Darren Gipe (Pennsylvania),

Bob Horne (California),

Greg Kendall (Pennsylvania),

Bill Fuesting (Illinois), and

Vinnie Sansone (Illinois).

The ‘early bird’ drawing was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5, at the National Sprint Car Museum, with museum board member Jim Jones doing the actual drawing of the raffle tickets from the barrel. Also on hand were museum marketing director Craig Agan, executive director Tom Schmeh, and photographer Dave Hill. Amongst the prizes in the preliminary drawing are 2008 race tickets from the following speedways: Eldora Speedway (Kings Royal), Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville Nationals), Lernerville Speedway (Don Martin Memorial), The Dirt Track at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway (WoO World Finals), Skagit Speedway (Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup), Texas Motor Speedway (NASCAR Sprint Cup), Volusia Speedway Park (DIRTcar Nationals), and Williams Grove Speedway (National Open). All winners will have their tickets put back into the barrel for the January 15, 2009, grand prize drawing of the state-of-the-art Shaver-powered 410-cubic-inch winged JEI sprint car number 7.

According to Jim Jones, “You can’t do much better with a national drawing than to have winners from California to Pennsylvania, and Minnesota to Louisiana. The museum foundation truly appreciates the support of all the ticket buyers, sprint car raffle builders and manufacturers, and the individual tracks that donated the 2008 race tickets.”
