1981 Results, Stories and Points Added!

(Bill W) - The year was 1981. Tim Green ran away with the track championship splitting time between the Jensen Construction 55 and the Bob Trostle #20. After struggles in his qualifying night at the Nationals, Green and Trostle received a phone call to be an alternate for Saturday night's C. He would turn that 21st starting spot in the C into a 9th place finish in the Championship event.
The late John Stevenson drove the Bethke #31 to five victories in one of his best seasons ever. Steve Kinser won his second Knoxville Nationals. The late Rich Vogler won when the USAC Dirt Champ cars came to town. Read about it all now in our "Historical Results" section!
