(Joanne Cram) Returning Favorites and New Drivers …continued

Second place in 360 driver points, and First place in 360 owner points Bryan Dobesh, will return to Knoxville Raceway to run in a limited capacity this spring and summer. Dobesh is coming off a winter of healing for his broken foot, which incidentally is the foot that is used for the accelerator. This is a good thing when you like to go fast around Knoxville Raceway!

Dobesh notes that things are up in the air for his team as far as racing at Knoxville Raceway this season. Due to the high cost of fuel, he is uncertain how much of a commitment he can make to the weekly trek of 600+ miles.

Bryan is actively looking for sponsors in the Knoxville/ Des Moines area that would like to help out with fuel costs, and/or any other race related expenses that will help them continue to commute to Knoxville
weekly. If you have any leads for Bryan or can help, you can email jcramit92@aol.com and I will direct your information to Bryan.

Newcomer Derek Ingalls, of Snohomish, Washington, will be running in a limited capacity at Knoxville this season as well. Ingalls plans to keep his equipment locally at Knoxville, and fly out to get seat time at the famed half-mile track. Derek hopes to compete a couple times a week in the 410 class, with a new 410 Shark Engine, made by fellow Washingtonian engine builder, Marc Huson.

Ingalls also plans to run the 360 Nationals, as well as the 410 Nationals this summer. Most of Derek’s experience is with the 360 class of racing, running at Fred Brownfield’s Gray’s Harbor Raceway in
Elma, Washington- among other NSCS (formerly the Northern Sprint Tour) races. Ingalls also made the trip out last August to run some 360 races with the Brodix Tournament of Champions and the 360 Nationals.

Derek Ingalls was hooked on sprint car racing by the Brownfield/Cram families. Growing up in the Snohomish area where Brownfield and Cram are from, Derek quickly got the itch to go racing. Derek’s first year racing was at Skagit Speedway, where he and Travis Cram shared a Fred Brownfield owned race car in 1993, along with one other driver. Ingalls continued to work towards improving his racing career and has worked on several different race car teams, worked with engine builder Marc Huson of Shark Engines, and has done a lot of traveling to different tracks with his own team.

When Derek isn’t racing, he works as the Xbox Live Operations General Manager for Microsoft.
Sponsors include Sky River Mead, Shark Racing Engines, and Fire-Down Graphics. Helping Ingalls out are crew chief Michael (Rock) Cossalter, Joy Lord, and assistance from the BCR crew. Also helping on occasion are Derek’s daughter, Bailey (12) and son, Kellan (8).
