Brian Birkhofer Latest to Enter 5th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals Presented by SuperClean!
(Bill W) Brian Birkhofer, the winner of the inaugural Knoxville Late Model Nationals in 2004, has submitted his entry for this year’s edition of the event. The 5th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals Presented by SuperClean will be the richest in the history of the race. The $260,810 three-day event will pay the winner $40,000 out of a $175,250 finale purse.
Already 66 drivers have entered the event to be held September 25-27, 2008 at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa!
Joining Birkhofer as previous champions already in the field are Scott Bloomquist (2005), Brian Shirley (2006) and Brady Smith (2007)! Sprint Cup stars Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader have also thrown their hats in the ring, and are joined by late model legends Billy Moyer, Rick Eckert, Steve Francis, Darrell Lanigan, Shannon Babb and Johnny Mars. Darren Miller is always tough at Knoxville, and “Kid Rocket” Josh Richards will be back as well!
The first Australian entries in the history of the event have been received from Brad and Ben Ludlow. The pair ran first and second, respectively, in the 2008 QFS Australia Dirt Late Model Nationals at the Perth Motorplex. Veteran Darrel DeFrance, Denny Eckrich, and Boone McLaughlin will again add to the local Iowa flavor of the field!
Tickets are $20 for general admission on the preliminary nights and $30 for the finale. Reserved seats are $25 for the prelims and $35 for the final. Children are half price!
