First Ever Australians Entered in Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals!

(Bill W) For the first time ever, the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals presented by SuperClean will have an Australian presence, and it will be a father/son combination. Ben Ludlow and his son Brad, both from Western Australia, are entered in the event to be held September 25-27, 2008! The duo joins an impressive list of drivers already entered, including Sprint Cup stars Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader, as well as former Late Model Nationals champions Brian Birkhofer, Scott Bloomquist, Brian Shirley and Brady Smith!

The son led the father recently in the Australian Dirt Late Model Nationals at the Perth Motorplex in Western Australia as Brad passed his father late in the race to claim the prestigious event ahead of Ben. The two embraced in Victory Lane, in what had to be an emotional moment for the racing family. Brad, who recently became a new father to daughter, Brianna Rose, was awarded the Perth Motorplex Driver of the Year Award. The award was significant, in that he was the first late model driver to receive the award in what is usually sprint car territory!

The 5th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals Presented by SuperClean will be the richest in the history of the race. The $260,810 three-day event will pay the winner $40,000 out of a $175,250 finale purse.

Tickets are $20 for general admission on the preliminary nights and $30 for the finale. Reserved seats are $25 for the prelims and $35 for the final. Children are half price!
