Tension and Purses Rise for Farm Bureau Mid-Season Championship Night!

(Bill W) For the fourth straight 410 feature event, last Saturday’s edition was decided in the last three laps in lapped traffic! Again, it was hard for fans to stay in their seats as point leader Danny Lasoski found his way under Dion Hindi and Billy Alley coming for the white flag to score his first win. This weekend, we should see more of the same, with Saturday’s Knoxville Hall of Fame inductions and Friday’s Vintage Cars taking to the track adding to the card! Hot Rods will also be on display!

The competition in the 410 class has been fierce this year, with several drivers staying “closer to home” and running at Knoxville each and every Saturday night! The action is intensifying on a weekly basis, both on the track and off! This weekend serves as the Mid-Season Championships. We’ll go 25 laps with $3500 going to the winner!

Lasoski has plenty of company in the point standings with the likes of Alley who was the 2006 track champion, Mark Dobmeier, who has won four of his last five races competed in, two-time feature winner Justin Henderson, two-time track champion Skip Jackson, three-time 360 track champ Jake Peters, last year’s third place runner Calvin Landis, defending champion Brian Brown, “Zoom Zoom” Dusty Zomer and “Neon” Dion Hindi right behind him!

Matt Moro has showed consistency pays off as he leads the 360 point standings ahead of two-time feature winner Gregg Bakker, Brett Mather, defending track champ Josh Higday, Joe Beaver, Dave Hall, Ryan Roberts, “The Bulldogg” Jesse Giannetto, Russ Hall and Natalie Sather!

The Knoxville Hall of Fame inductions will be held as part of the Saturday night festivities. Larry Ball Sr., Pat and Larry Patterson, Bob Thompson and Mike Twedt will be inducted!

Friday night, check out the vintage cars. Dozens of “Blasts from the Past” are expected to take to the track, as the legends of yesteryear strut their stuff! The Hot Rod Reunion should be a good time as well, with cars on display throughout the afternoon and evening!
