Weekly Update - Drivers Hitting the Track & A Little Website 101!

(Bill W) I get people telling me all the time that they are just discovering all the history that is on this website. Complete results and stories back to 1978 can be found right now, and we’ll be adding more years in the near futures. To find historical Knoxville results, go to either the “History” page, or the “Results” page. Then click the blue “Historical Results” link at the top of the page.

For those seeking statistics, the “History” page is the place to look. You can spend hours in there by just clicking on the pull-down menu and selecting what you want. Anything from career Nationals A main starters to Season Opener winners to Fathers and Sons that have raced at Knoxville are included.

I got word from Lincoln, Nebraska’s Billy Alley this week that he is ready to roll this season. He has taken over ownership of the team, and they’ll be racing at Eagle Raceway on March 28 to kick off the season. He’s planning on another run at the 410 track title that he won in 2006. Last season, he finished second in points, and he’s ready to climb another spot!

Brian Brown will be in action this weekend in Springfield, Missouri at the Turkey Classic. Brian and SuperClean agreed to a new two-year partnership over the Winter, and the 2007 Knoxville track champ is looking to improve on his 2008 season. Brian is also entering his first full year as a car owner/driver.

More and more races are starting up, and the World of Outlaws will be running at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California. Wayne Johnson will be driving Harold Main’s #35 in Chico, and also next week in Tulare with the WoO. Six-time track champion Terry McCarl will also be out in California running with the WoO. Wayne will be running at Knoxville weekly this season in the FattFro #14AJ, while TMAC will be a frequent visitor in the Big Game Treestands #24.

While you may be waiting for the season to begin, you can assure yourself of seats for the upcoming season. Tickets for the 49th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals, the 6th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals, the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Nationals, the Iowa Telecom/Pepsi USAC Midget Nationals, and the World of Outlaw shows are all on sale! Just click on the “Tickets” Box on the homepage to see which seats are available and order online!

If you’d like to watch or listen to some Knoxville racing, that’s easy as well. Just click on the “Videos” Box on the homepage to be directed towards several Youtube clips from last season. To listen to archived audio broadcasts, just visit www.HoseheadsRadio.com, and click on the Schedule page!
I get several requests for the purse structure. You can find it (based on a 20-car feature field) on the “Championship Cup” page. Find “Contacts” at the raceway through a link on the “Raceway Info” page.
