Knoxville Raceway takes to the ice for the final Buccaneer Hockey home game of the season!

March 27, 2009(Pella, IA) The high speed dare devils of the Knoxville Raceway will be visiting the Des Moines Buccaneers Arena for the final home game of the year against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, April 3.

The night will start with an exciting tailgate party outside Buccaneer arena featuring the stars of the Des Moines Buccaneers hockey team. The Bucs have a great party planned with Laser 103.3 on hand doing a live remote and all kinds of other specials Bucs fans have come to expect.

Knoxville Raceway Championship Cup Series competitors Matt Moro, Jon Agan, and Wayne Johnson will also be on hand to greet the fans and take photos and sign autographs. Fans will also be able to take a lap around the legendary Knoxville Raceway inside of the Sprint Car Simulator, and to check out the new Pella Motors Chevrolet Pace Truck!

Through out the night, there will be many prizes given away to the fans in attendance, as well as a special drawing that will award 6 lucky fans, a “VIP, ALL ACCESS” pre-race experience inside the pit area prior to the season opening Lucas Oil Knoxville Championship Cup Series events on April 25.

“This event is really a way for us to kick off our season which gets under way April 25th and showcase our drivers and teams that put on one of the best short track racing experience’s in the country”, said Track Announcer Tony Bokhoven. The Knoxville Raceway is going to be giving every child in attendance a FREE ticket to the season opener, and every adult that brings a Bucs ticket stub to Knoxville Raceway on April 25 will get in for half price. Also, there will be prizes given out during the evening and drivers on hand for autographs. “When this idea came about, it was really about broadening our fan base, and we thought the Buccaneers fans & the Waterloo Blackhawk’s are the kind of fans we want to get closer to”, said Knoxville Raceway Marketing Director Brian Stickel.

In addition to the highly competitive action on season opening night, we are looking forward to having a few of the Des Moines Buccaneers players on hand if possible to meet the fans.
